Unlike many candidates who campaign on ideas alone,
Mimi Garner brings the rare perspective of a builder
and entrepreneur who has successfully created
businesses and communities.
Before arriving in
Plumas County in 1995, Mimi owned businesses that helped regional independent banks transition from adding machines to desktop computers and built a successful agricultural operation in Mexico employing more than 600 workers.
In 1995 she purchased 1,280 acres of raw land in
Eastern Plumas County and transformed it into the
nationally recognized
Gold Mountain community, Nakoma and the Dragon golf course and the LIFE Magazine 1997 House of the Year.
The $65 million project continues to generate
over $750,000 annually in property tax revenue and
untold hotel and sales taxes that supports the local tourism industry creating
good local jobs.
Today, Mimi brings more
than three decades of
private-sector leadership,
local investment, and community involvement to the race for District 5 Supervisor.
Mimi believes the experience
of building businesses, managing large projects,
and investing in a community long-term brings a perspective to county government that is often missing.
Mimi proudly calls District 5 home for over 30 years.
